Anpanman, created by Takashi Yanase, is a beloved Japanese anime and manga character. He is an anthropomorphic anpan (a sweet bean-jam filled pastry) who fights for justice and provides food to the hungry.
Anpanman was born when a shooting star imbued a freshly baked anpan with life. He possesses a unique weakness: if his head gets wet or damaged, he loses his strength. However, Uncle Jam, the baker who created him, can bake a new head to restore his power.
His arch-nemesis is Baikinman (Germ Man), a mischievous germ who aims to defeat Anpanman and spread germs. Despite Baikinman's constant attempts to cause trouble, Anpanman always prevails, selflessly offering pieces of his anpan head to those in need. This act of kindness and his unwavering commitment to helping others have made him a symbol of goodness and a cultural icon in Japan.
